Description
In the Pantanal, the world's biggest wetland area with a size of 230.000km2 (139.000km2 in Brazil), seasons are divided in dry-season and rainy-season, 6 months of each period per year: drought June through November, flood December through May. High season for ecotourism is during the drought, when small lagoons and marshes keep large amounts of fish, crabs and snails, which then easily can be caught by birds, caimans and some mammals that are then seasonally abundant.
